nice!
I have a question, do you ask them for permission first before taking your picture? I know some people don't like to have their pictures taken. I haven't tried what you did yet. :) as in taking pictures of random people

@Ling: well,i never ask their permission,i approach them and capture,if they don't look happy about that ,it is no big deal, just be yourselves, put down your camera, smile, walk away if you want, but i usually have some chats with them.I got shouted by people in many occasions,oh ya,i even tried to capture people in 7-eleven shops and got chased away by the manager, you know, business thingy... haha... :P
Excellent street portrait. Great photo journalism. I love the depth and richness to your processing too. Your processing choices are always spot on and do justice to your work. Fine indeed.

You wonder about child labour when you see shots like this - is he just doing this to make some money, or to feed his family...

To me, the proper way is...or what you can do is, approach them and have a chit chat. Talk about random stuff or ask them questions like how much these shoes are or do they have a size for you. Just something to initiate a conversation. Then ask if it is ok to take a photo of him/the person. If you have a green light from the person, then go ahead, happy shooting but if you get a big NO NO, then just say " Ahhh, okok sorry". I always do that. 95% success. Just to share :)

@Levine: haha, yup, that is pretty much the same for me :D
get a 70-300mm telephoto lens you can stand across the street and shoot people unaware :) that's how one does candid photography. the other way is to hold the camera at hip height and clicking without the people around knowing. there are a quite a lot of things written on street photography you shud try to read them up...
